What Makes Saga Different?

Retention of Key Components

One critical difference for community associations is how they choose to operate. If you are a Board member, ask yourself this question:

“If I was running a corporation, would I elect to hire a third party to control my documents storage, the software used to run the company, and the person to run operations?”

The answer is most likely no.

Saga gives the community the ability to hold onto to the software system used to run the Association. No matter if there needs to be a change in manager or accounting, the community is not burdened with having to switch management services, change software, lose their document storage, among many other inconveniences.

All the hard work and effort the community puts into their operations stays the same. Giving the Association members the homeowner experience they are looking for. No need to bother the members with notifications that the community fired the management company and they will have to sign up for a new portal, find where to send their check, or how to sign up for a new automatic withdraw from their checking account.

The Board of Directors invites the manager into their environment, much like when a company hires a new employee. The employee is required to learn their software, operations, systems & processes.

This has never been offered before, and we are excited to bring this beneficial concept to your community associations.

Manager Benefits

Because the manager will be operating as a 1099 contractor, the manager is able to negotiate with the community the fee they charge.

This means the management company is not taking a large cut and giving the manager a % of the fee that is collected.

When the manager who is performing the work is being compensated for their skills, they will not be overwhelmed with a large portfolio solving the age-old problem of the economics of management.

Choosing Who Manages your Community

Through sagahoa.com the Board is able to see the managers who are available to manage the Association. And much like services offered through websites like Zillow the Board is able to search by criteria that is important to them:

·     Number of Years in Management ·     Location ·     Experience (High-Rise, 55 and up, Master Planned Communities, Small Association Management, Document Amendment, Special Assessments, Construction, and more!) ·     Estimated Cost

Insurance

The Board does need to extend coverage over the manager. The Association has a high probability of already having the insurance coverage, and it might be as simple as making sure the form covers the professional manager.

In the event the coverage isn’t already a part of the insurance for the Association, Saga will help guide the Association in obtaining the appropriate insurance.

Slack

Each member of the Board will need to participate in having a Slack account. This is a nominal cost and will give the Board the benefits of connecting with other Board members in the Saga environment. Give the Board a private channel to have discussions that can be held for future Board members to have access to, and receive announcements from the company regarding education, webinars, legislation updates, etc.
